There will never be a time when Star Trek fans stop collecting memorabilia. Whether they've built a home to showcase their collections or have a shelf to display their chosen few items, Trekkies dedicated to collecting all things Star Trek will continue to spend whopping amounts of money to bring home desired items. The most recent "Bid Long and Prosper" Star Trek auction from Julien's Auctions proved that quite well. [via Trekmovie]

This was a record-setting event as some Star Trek props sold for new world record prices. The highest was Captain Kirk's [William Shatner] hero phaser which sold for $910,000 after tweny-seven bids! That was definitely a record setter. Coming in secon was Kirk's communicator which brought in $780,000 after the exact same number of bids. That was estimated to sell for $100,000-$200,000!

It wouldn't be an auction without some Star Trek costumes up for bid, and Julien's didn't disappoint with William Shatner's command uniform, with velour top and cropped bottom pants which were worn in the first season selling for $455,000 with twenty-four bids. That wasn't estimated to bring in more than $85,000. You can check out some of the other estimated prices in the video above where William Shatner showcased some of the items up for auction.

Then there was the Helm and Navigation console from the Enterprise bridge from Star Trek: The Original Series. That sold for $260,000 with twenty-two bids.

Also sold was an original Deep Space Nine station miniature which went for $254,000 and Captain Janeway's [Kate Mulgrew] captain's chair from Star Trek: Voyager, which brought in a healthy $41,275.

Overall, this was an extremely successful auction and just goes to show that Trek fans aren't done collecting. As long as there are collectible items going up for sale, they'll be there with the bids! Check out all the items that were available and the winning bids at Julien's Auctions.
