Star Trek: Lower Deck's final season has reached its conclusion. Nine episodes have come and gone and the last episode is set to air in a matter of days. Before they close things out, however, the crew behind the show took one last leap into the unknown. The penultimate episode, entitled "Fissure Quest" saw a collection of Star Trek all-stars from around the canon, coming together to help stop a growing threat.

The episode brought back a handful of major names, and while they all played familiar roles, no one returned as their original character. Each actor or actress who came back played a different universe's version of their character.

Firstly, Jolene Blalock was back, once again playing T'Pol. Her first version of T'Pol was first seen in Star Trek: Enterprise over 20 years ago. This T'Pol however isn't the same version. This version that we see has been married to Charles "Trip" Tucker for 63 years by the time she joins the crew of William Boilmer.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine got some love as well. A holographic version of Julian Bashir is involved in the episode, once again played by Alexander Siddig, though this Bashir has the backstory of The Doctor from Star Trek: Voyager. Meanwhile, a version of Elim Garak from a completely different universe is here as well. He's involved romantically with the hologram Bashir, despite neither entity being from the same universe. While Garak is once again played by Andrew Robinson, this version of Garak is a Starfleet doctor.

Later in the episode, we see Lily Sloane, famously of Star Trek: First Contact. While also voiced again by Alfre Woodward, this isn't the same Lily we saw in First Contact. Instead of a warp drive, see and Zephrame Cochran built a device that allows ships to go from universe to universe. Coincidently, she's wearing a uniform similar to that of the NX-01 Enterprise.

Garrett Wang is back as well, once again playing Harry Kim. Or in this case, many Harry Kims. None of them are from the main timeline, so there's no continuation of the Voyager version of Kim here. Wang steals the show by playing a slight variance of the same character, which causes him to mostly interact with himself.

Lastly, and only technically a return, we see Curzon Dax back in the fold. Curzon never truly appeared as a character in Deep Space Nine, so he has no actor synonymous with him. Due to that, famed voice actor Fred Tatasciore voiced him.
