Welcome back to another recap of Star Trek: Scouts. JR, Roo, and Sprocket, along with their pets Zips, Star, and Bubbles, have encountered some strange asteroids in the past, and this adventure is no different. Let's blast off!

As this episode begins, Sprocket and Roo spin JR in his chair for G force training, which the Scouts will need to practice for when they become cadets. They spin JR so hard that he flies out of the chair and lands on a beanbag, but there's no time for more practice because the astro alarm goes off! The Scouts take their stations.

Sprocket tells JR that an approaching asteroid is a kernel from the Klingon Corn Cluster, and that they only have four minutes to act! Roo activates the deflector wheel and it chooses a stick of butter. JR fires, but it only makes the kernel buttery, and it's still headed straight for them!

The Scouts spin the wheel again, and they choose a microwave, hoping that the heat will cause the asteroid kernel to pop. Roo tries to energize it, but it fails! Sprocket uses his bionic arm to examine the problem with the deflector, which is clogged with all that leftover butter! Oh no!

Fortunately, Sprocket has an idea. JR uses a device that forms a small ship to help him reach the kernel. Sprocket and Roo mount a small deflector on the hood, and then JR flies close to the asteroid and fires the microwave heat from the portable deflector. POP! The kernel scatters into popcorn, which they all enjoy as JR returns to the school, where Roo compliments his flying. Way to work together, Scouts!
