4 other sports teams we'd love to see Star Trek sponsor

On Saturday, April 6, 2024, Star Trek made history by sponsoring Union Berlin, a German soccer team. Union Berlin took on Leverkusen and lost 1-0 in a high-scoring affair (sarcasm). This may seem like an odd sport or team specifically to be paired with Star Trek but it actually makes sense. The club is sponsored by Paramount+ proper, making any partnership with an outlet like Star Trek far more understandable.
Yet, we're left wondering now, what other sports team could Star Trek be thrown on a jersey for? Can we do better? Can we find a team that would be perfect for a Star Trek partnership? The Union Berlin squad has a golden knight mascot, making them not the most thematically appropriate partnership, but there are other franchises from around the world of sports that may have a more suiting mascot or identity that would be fitting for Star Trek, and we're going to look at them right now.
So here are three sports teams that would be wise to partner with Star Trek.
4. Winnipeg Jets - Hockey (NHL)
The Winnipeg Jets are one of the best teams in the NHL during the 2023-2024 season. They have 47 wins, 24 losses, and three ties, and are fourth in the Western Conference with 100 points. Backed by their top scorers Mark Scheifele and Josh Morrissey, the club has become one of the more dangerous in the NHL.
Named 'The Jets' not because of their love of the air but because of a love of an old junior hockey team with a similar name, once known as the Winnipeg Monarchs.
