7 plot changes that doomed Star Trek: Discovery before it started

Star Trek made a lot of changes to the timeline to make Discovery work, and that's why it didn't.

The Uniforms

The uniforms are among the ugliest that any Star Trek show has ever featured. That's bad enough, but what's worse is that, within 10 years of the show's timeline, we'd have the iconic designs used in the original series.

We're not sure what the concept was supposed to be, especially with the gold and silver trim, but there was nothing wrong with either using the jump-suits from Enterprise or going into the same uniform design that the original series featured.

Strange New Worlds proved you could update the attire without moving away from the actual concept we saw in the original series. For them to throw out all that history for these awful iterations is inexcusable.

Now, starting the show with these horrid abominations hurt the show, but we'd be remissed if we didn't mention that the uniforms they started using in season three and on weren't the exact opposite. The ones used in the future are among some of the best that Star Trek has ever featured, and not only updated the look but kept it in line with what's expected.

It's a look all their own, and one we wished they would've gone with earlier.
