It's about time Pluto TV started adding the Star Trek films to their service
By Chad Porto
Star Trek has an impressive catalog of films and movies. So much so that 60 years later, the first series, The Original Series, is still seen as some of the best storytelling ever. The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager, which came out nearly 30 years later, also excelled. So much so that Paramount Global has put all four shows on their free-to-air streaming service, Pluto TV.
The service is wonderful and it's among my favorite streaming services. It's got a robust library of content that you can watch on-demand or, if you're like me, flip through the channels to see if there's something you like. It's a great service when you want to turn your brain off and not have to pick something you want. Yet, instead, you want to find something that grabs you.
So it's a great service for that. It's also a great service if you just want 24/7 Star Trek at your fingertips. The service has the first four shows in the franchise's history, and on occasion airs newer episodes as part of a plan to get you to subscribe to Paramount+ to allow you to watch more.
Mostly though, it just has the old shows.
Yet, now, the service will start showing all 13 Star Trek films. That includes;
- Star Trek The Motion Picture
- Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
- Star Trek III: The Search for Spock
- Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
- Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
- Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
- Star Trek Generations
- Star Trek: First Contact
- Star Trek: Inserruection
- Star Trek: Nemesis
- Star Trek (2009)
- Star Trek: Into Darkness
- Star Trek: Beyond
The addition of all 13 original films is long overdue and now gives fans of Star Trek four distinct channels alone to watch if you're craving your Star Trek fix.
