Marina Sirtis didn't have a lot of screen time in Star Trek: Picard season 3, and that's mainly because seasons two and three filmed back to back, and Sirtis was back home in the UK. The little screen time she did get really worked for her character, especially when Troi saved her husband, Captain Riker, Admiral Stewart, and Jack Crusher. And, in a circle of life moment, Picard wrapped up the series with the entire The Next Generation crew playing poker as they'd done many times before during the series seven season run (sans Picard who only played in one game, and that was in the final season).

And just when viewers thought the series was over, an end credit scene with none other than Q and Jack Crusher takes place with Q essentially using Crusher as his his Admiral Picard. And the ending scene left fans hoping for, and many talking about, a potential spin-off for the series. Though the series hasn't been greenlit, it does have a name thanks to showrunner, Terry Matalas. Star Trek: Legacy would continue the journeys of Captain Seven of Nine and her crew aboard the new Enterprise. But this isn't something Sirtis believes will happen.

Trekmovie interviewed her briefly on the red carpet at the 51st Annual Saturn Awards and when asked if there was a desire to do more since Patrick Stewart was hoping to, Sirtis said she didn't believe it was going to continue. Sirtis said she thought if the series was going to continue, it would have done so after the success of Picard's final season.

"I think if we were going to continue, they would have ridden on the success of Picard. Do you know what I mean? And then come on the back of that, and they didn’t. So I’m not sure that it’s going to continue."

And that thought certainly has its merits, especially since we're only two months away from the one-year anniversary of the series finale. That said, we can still hope that "no news is good news." Until then, we have to wait, just like the actors, to discover what will happen now that Seven of Nine is captain of the Enterprise.
