Nicolas Gage is a hardcore Trek fan. He's said before in a 2023 Yahoo interview how he wants to appear in Star Trek not Star Wars. At the 51st Annual Saturn Awards where he picked up an award for his role as Dracula in Renfield, he doubled down on that in a brief interview with Trekmovie. The 60-year-old actor who's notable for such films as Con-Air, The Rock, and Next, said he grew up watching Captain Kirk, Leonard Nimoy, and DeForest Kelley on Star Trek: The Original Series and thought those stories had a lot of wisdom.

"“Well, my passion is more Trekkie. I grew up watching Shatner and Nimoy and Bones and those stories on television had a lot of wisdom and socially relevant commentary. So I’ve always been partial to Star Trek.”"

Nicolas Cage

At the interview, Cage said there had been some talk about him appearing in a Star Trek movie, though nothing real. He confirmed there had been a few comments from Paramount, though. While it sounds like there's nothing concrete about a future role for Cage, he knows one place where he wants to be if he does get his shot on Trek...on the bridge of the Enterprise.

"“I’d want to be on the bridge. I want to be on the Enterprise. Yeah… Who knows?”"

Nicolas Cage

Star Trek has had some well-known celebrities as guest stars on episodes and in the movies so it isn't out of the question that Cage could get his wish. If not on the bigscreen, perhaps the actor would consider taking a ride around the galaxy on Captain Pike's (Anson Mount) Enterprise. Being that Cage is a fan of The Original Series, he'd get the chance to interact with some of the characters from that era like Spock (Ethan Peck) and Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding). And that could be just the dream he's looking for.
