Ranking every lead character from the Nu Trek era of Star Trek characters

#1 Christopher Pike

Lastly, we have the top dog, Christopher Pike. The top dog and for a variety of reasons. Firstly, his look is killer. From his salt and pepper "quaffed" hair to the classic but updated Star Trek original series uniform designs. Even his name rocks. Everything about Pike stands out, and that's the point. To be able to steal the scene by just walking on the set.

The only non-perfect score he got was in performances. Like with so many, writing has held back Pike and by extension his actor, Anson Mount. We're still waiting for his "The line must be drawn here..." scene. It's coming, we know it is, but he hasn't had it yet. Until we've seen the entire range of the character, we can't give it a five.

Pike cooks, rides horses, and has a great rapport with his crew. His personality and charm is a huge driving force for why fans love the show.

And as mentioned, the report with his crew is top-notch. Especially the way he interacts with Spock and Una Chin-Riley, two of his most trusted advisers and close friends. Willing to go above and beyond for both, it's a statement of how to care for those who care for you.

Lastly, and as previously mentioned, Mount's portrayal of Pike as a whole has been a huge factor in the reason to watch the show. Everyone loves him and for good reason. It's why he's our top dog for the Nu Era of the franchise.
