There is one name in the history of Star Trek who is a bigger sci-fi icon than he arguably is a Star Trek icon. That name is Scott Bakula, the man who made his bones before he was ever cast on Star Trek: Enterprise. Bakula, most famous for his time on Quantum Leap, was arguably the biggest name to ever join a Star Trek series. While names like William Shatner, Chris Pine, and Patrick Stewart hold as much, if not more weight than Bakula, unlike the former Quantum Leap star, they weren't stars before Trek.

Bakula was, and so it made the fact his series, Enterprise, getting only four seasons all the worse. Especially when the show was finally hitting its groove. When the show ended, so did Bakula's ties with the franchise. Sure, he did the Captains' film with Shatner, and he's been to a few conventions, but he hasn't lobbied for a return in any meaningful way.

So it makes the fact that he sat down with his former castmates, Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating on their D-Con Chamber podcast all the more eventful.

Bakula remains one of the biggest names that Star Trek has not only ever had, but could potentially bring back. He's just wrapped up a nice run with NCIS: New Orleans, a series that went for 155 episodes, meaning he has plenty of time to apply his craft if he were to return to Star Trek.

He hasn't worked a lot since his NCIS series ended, so he may be hoping for a good enough script to get him to travel to do some new projects. He's someone who fans and crew members a like adore, and there is a large portion of fans who would love to see Bakula back in the saddle one more time.

With the way Enterprise ended, and the way the timeline followed after, it may be hard to continue his story following the events of the fourth season of Enterprise, but with some creativity and enough originality, there could be a sequel series in store for him if it's properly written. We're hoping the podcast isn't the last time we see Bakula associated with Star Trek.
