As I write this, Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas is making its way toward the port in Cape Canaveral, Florida where it will dock at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. One last party is going on for old and new friends to say goodbye on Star Trek The Cruise VII. The fun won't wrap up until 2:00 am. By the time we arrive in FL, everyone will be exhausted but thrilled they were able to take the opportunity to interact with Star Trek fans and celebrities. And they'll start looking forward to next year's cruise.

Last night, the biggest party of the cruise, Q's Costume Party, took place on the Promenade, and, once again, the fans didn't disappoint as they vied for prizes. Plenty of fantasy characters showed up as did the Little Gorns on the Prairie. **

One of my personal favorites was Data's Sherlock Holmes who looked particularly regal. This partygoer committed fully to the part by wearing contact lenses!

Kai Winn and Kai Opaka made an appearance, and we also got to see Deanna Troi in her full Romulan uniform. The guests were only too happy to let me take their pictures as they shared their love of Star Trek!

Another one of my personal favorites was the Tribble skirt with the Captain Kirk face mask to take us back to The Trouble with Tribbles. The wearer told me the skirt weighed 65 pounds, and she would not be able to sit down at all!

Then these two regal gents showed up and graciously allowed me to take their picture for posterity!

The party was a rousing success and was one of the highlights of the cruise. It's a fun time and definitely something to see in person if you get the chance!
