Star Trek: Legends launches on Steam

Star Trek: Legends was for the longest time stuck behind a paywall in the Apple store. Users who owned an Apple device and subscribed to the Apple Arcade were the only ones who could play the game. Meaning, you had to subscribe to the Apple Arcade and pay either $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year to retain access to the game.

That is no longer the case, as the game will be crossing platforms and joining Steam. The game is currently available on Steam and users can now purchase it for $19.99. The game will feature a bit different gameplay than what you may be used to. While typically, most Star Trek games are turn-based games or first-person games, this game is an RPG.

RPGs, or role-playing games, allow you to take a character and affect how they develop and change throughout the story. It offers a more customizable experience than other games, and Star Trek: Legends is no different in that regard.

For those interested in finally trying out the game, the Steam launch comes with some upgraded features as well. So if you haven't heard great things about the Apple Arcade version, the game's developer, Tilting Point, has upgraded the game some. New users can expect a host of new things to experience. Concerns over the quality of life have been addressed, with the game being more balanced than it was before.

The user interface (UI) has also been tweeked, allowing for a more streamlined gaming option on the computer. The controls are also better suited now for the PC than for mobile devices. Users hoping for Steam Deck support are going to get their wish, as the game now supports that. Not only that but achievements, a new feature involving collectibles and more have been added to the game.
