Star Trek: Picard actress was "gutted" when she learned her character was being killed
It was in the third season of Star Trek: Picard when Stephanie Czajkowski found herself playing a part-Deltan/part-Vulcan aboard the bridge of the USS Titan, captained by Liam Shaw [Todd Stashwick]. Czajkowski didn't know originally that she was auditioning for a role on Star Trek, but once she was aboard, she would look around every day and marvel at the fact that was on an "iconic bridge" and knew it "was only going to last for so long."
Czajkowski was right, but it wasn't because the series was ending. Her character, T'Veen, didn't make it to the end of the season as the character was killed by Vadic [Amanda Plummer] in the eighth episode "Surrender." She learned of the upcoming death of her character by that episode's director, Deborah Kampmeier. Czajkowski was "gutted" when she learned her character was going to be executed and disappointed that she wasn't going to be able to make it to the end of the series. But, as we all know, this is Star Trek, and there are numerous theories about how the Starfleet officer could return should Star Trek: Legacy ever be picked up for production. Czajkowski says she "has a folder of theories for Terry Matalas." But that doesn't sound like it would be a problem anyway as Matalas didn't seem to be concerned about T'Veen's death, saying "she can have a twin sister or whatever."
"I mean, I would love to be a part of it, of course, because I love those people so much. But more importantly, I just want it to happen."
- Stephanie Czajkowski
And if the chance to return to Star Trek arises, Czajkowski will be there. In fact, she hopes there is a way her character could be resurrected if Star Trek: Legacy is greenlit, and, on top of that, she really wants to see Jeri Ryan's character, Seven of Nine captaining the Enterprise. Don't we all?
