Star Trek: Prodigy's 2nd season photos preview implies a new addition to the crew

Star Trek: Prodigy's first season introduced us to a wonderful core group of characters. Brett Gray played the series' male lead and "defacto captain" of the USS Protostar, Dal. Fallout star Ella Purnell played the female lead, Gywn, daughter of season one's antagonist, The Diviner (played by John Noble). Anus Imrie, Rylee Alazraqui, and Dee Bradley Baker played Zero, Rok-Tahk, and Murf respectively, while comedy star Jason Mantzoukas played Jankom Pog. Those were the young core characters but they weren't the only stars of the show.
We mentioned Noble, but other heavy-hitters, like Jimmi Simpson and Drednok, were around in season one as well. Of course, the lovely Kate Mulgrew reprised her role as Kathryn Janeway twice, technically. Once as a continuation of her Star Trek: Voyager character, and again as an Emergency Command Hologram, modeled after the real Janeway.
This was the core group and the show succeeded because of it. Season two looks to add a pretty prominent new name to the offering. A new character can be seen in recent screenshots (published by TrekMovie.com). She's in at least four stills. You can identify her by her pale complexion, black bangs with some sort of white highlights, and Vulcan-like ears.
She's an entirely new character, so new that no one has been able to identify her, but as she's part of the core group in the 20th episode shot, it's clear she's supposed to be a prominent character on the show. The 20th episode of season two, entitled "Ouroboros, Part 2", clearly depicts her as a major character.
Considering she's expected to be a major player, we can only deduce that this is Michaela Dietz's character, Maj'el. It's the only new actress and character combination that we've gotten a name for but no description yet of the character. We could be wrong, but considering the character is named after series creator Gene Roddenberry's wife, Majel Barrett, we'd be shocked if they gave her name to a throw-away character.
We'll find out for sure on July 1, 2024, as Prodigy's second season debuts on Netfilx.
