There is no alien too powerful to bring back for Star Trek

Star Trek isn't unfamiliar when it comes to touching the veil that separates us from the unknown. Be it aliens, ghosts, or even gods, Star Trek isn't afraid to go there. While sometimes we wish they wouldn't (hello, Sub Rosa), oftentimes we're glad they did. Starting from the beginning of the franchise with the all-mighty Trelane, we as fans are used to the concept of unstoppable alien entities.

Star Trek's The Next Generation, Voyager, and Deep Space Nine explored those concepts in depth. From Q to Mrs. Q, the "Prophets" and more, we've seen celestial beings appear and cause havoc on the series for decades. So it's peculiar that ScreenRant would say that one alien race would be too powerful to bring back.

In a recent article, ScreenRant writer Ashley Byrd makes a bold statement by saying the Douwd was too powerful and should not be brought back to the world of Star Trek. On the contrary, there is no alien so powerful that the universe of Star Trek couldn't bring them back.

After all, knowing you can't outfight or outsmart someone is a very relatable experience. Why take a very relatable idea away from the writers? Jean-Luc Picard, Kathryne Janeway, and Benjamin Sisko (as well as James Kirk) were skilled orators who were able to talk themselves out of a problem. The idea of space gods basically forces that series' captain to think of a new way to resolve an issue.

Not only that, but for the Trelanes, Qs, and Douwd of the universe, there's always the element that you could let them duke it out. Why not let the more powerful beings throw down and see who wins? It's a sure-fire winner for the folks at the Godzilla franchise. Put two big monsters on the screen and let them at it.

Star Trek has never brought these larger-than-life aliens together before on screen and maybe it's time they did.
