Star Trek has had 12 series across its nearly 60 years. Just about every series, save for maybe The Animated Series, has produced at least one great episode to add to the Star Trek back catalog of quality episodes. They've also all produced one of the worst episodes that the franchise has ever had to deal with as well.

Yet, the worst of one series may not be the worst of another. So we decided to look at every major series "worst" episode (according to IMDB) and rank them accordingly. That way we know truly, what's the worst the franchise has ever produced and who's responsible.

12. Prodigy- "Starstruck" (7.1)

It's a strong sign that Starstruck is the best of the worst. Easily the most consistent series of the Nu Trek Era, Prodiy's "worst" is its third-ever episode and first outside of the confines of Tars Lamora prison colony. So an adjustment period isn't surprising.

11. Lower Decks - "Second Contact" (6.8)

When your first episode is the worst in your series canon, there are only two ways this usually goes. Either an early cancelation or a rebound into better episodes. For Lower Decks, the latter was thankfully true. After five seasons, the show is being sent off, but not without producing nearly five seasons of magnificent content for its fandom.
