10. Strange New Worlds - "The Elysian Kingdom
" (6.2)

Not everyone loves fantasy stories and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds shoehorned that concept into a stellar first season. All too poor returns. It wouldn't be the only time they tried and failed to do a gimmick episode but this is by far the worst of the Strange New Worlds offering. Yet, still a solid episode compared to what's coming.

9. The Animated Series - "The Magicks of Megas-tu" (5.9)

Shows like Strange New Worlds, Lower Decks, and Prodigy may have differing ceilings, but they all have very high floors. You won't find too many bad episodes of any one of them. The Animated Series has neither a high ceiling in that regard nor a high floor. It's predictably middle of the road across the board. Most of the episodes don't break a 7.0 on IMDB and for good reason. The Magicks of Megas-tu isn't a great episode but it's not far from the par that The Animated Series established.

8. Short Treks - "The Girl Who Made The Stars" (5.6)

It was supposed to be a folklore episode about how the stars were created but the general concept fell flat. Either due to too much time or not enough given, the episode was never going to be that interesting. The entire series suffered from the same idea; too few ideas were deserving of any given time and the ones that were didn't get enough. Leaving us in a weird place where a segment can be both too long and not long enough depending on the premise of each episode. What made this Short Trek specifically bad was that it directly tied into a plot in Discovery, meaning you had to watch the much longer series to better understand this supposed stand-alone short.
