Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, aka "the one with the whales," is one of those 80s movies from the franchise that almost everyone enjoys and is considered one of the best films starring the cast of The Original Series.

It debuted in theaters on November 26, 1986, although it seems like only yesterday that I saw the trailer on TV and begged my mom to take me to see it. With the film's 40th Anniversary approaching, let's take a look back at The Voyage Home and discover why so many fans count it as their favorite, and why it's still watchable four decades later.
