Conclusion
These 1966 episodes, which mark Star Trek’s 60th anniversary in 2026, show the franchise learning week by week how to strike the right balance between great ideas and pulp thrills, monsters and moral dilemmas.
Some episodes are definitely a little old-fashioned, but some feel surprisingly contemporary. Almost all of them are working towards the same hopeful vision that fans will be celebrating throughout the anniversary year: a future where bravery, empathy, and curiosity are as important as phasers and starships.
