1. Star Trek: Lower Decks

At first glance, Lower Decks looked like it was going to be a Family Guy take on Star Trek with lots of cutaway gags and lowbrow humor. Instead, we got a true love letter to the franchise that used the freedom of animation to provide alien species and adventures that live-action couldn’t match.
The show shone with its engaging characters, hilarious comedy, and the Easter eggs to Trek lore made for a delightful game of rewatching episodes. Plus, the chemistry of voice actors Tawny Newsome and Jack Quaid let to their characters Mariner and Boimler going down in history as one of Trek's finest duos.
It says something that Lower Decks is considered by some far truer to the spirit of Trek than any of the recent live-action tales, and it only got better in the later seasons. Kurtzman deserves a commendation for taking a chance on this show and, even better, letting creator Mike McMahan run wild with their ideas rather than being too hands-on.
