Boldly going where the franchise deserves.

It’s been nearly 60 years since creator Gene Roddenberry introduced Star Trek to the masses. And, in addition to celebrating its stellar anniversary this September, the beloved science fiction franchise will also be honored by the Broadcasting+Cable Hall of Fame as a part of their 2026 class.

Star Trek (Paramount/CBS Studios) will receive the Broadcasting+Cable Hall of Fame Franchise of the Year Award. Meanwhile, others slated to be honored and join the BC Hall of Fame this year include ESPN’s own Stephen A. Smith, famed CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer, and Food Network chef extraordinaire Bobby Flay, among others.

Naturally, as a lifelong Trekkie, I’m delighted to see Star Trek being honored by the B+C Hall of Fame as the franchise nears its 60th anniversary this September. I’d also like to point out that CBS Studios made the Brodcasting+Cable Hall of Fame twice this year thanks to the work of the Emmy-nominated creative team of Robert and Michelle King (The Good Wife, Elsbeth, Your Honor).

About the Brodcasting+Cable Hall of Fame, courtesy of the official website:

“Since 1991, the B+C Hall of Fame has recognized the innovators, visionaries, and leaders who have profoundly shaped the media landscape. Established for Broadcasting magazine's 60th anniversary, each year the gala in New York City celebrates a new class of network leaders, station managers, agency partners, and media stars who have left a lasting impact on the field. To date the Hall of Fame has honored nearly 500 executives, personalities and programs…”

Star Trek will be honored at the 34th Broadcasting+Cable Hall of Fame ceremony in New York City on September 29, at the Ziegfeld Ballroom. And be sure to share your thoughts and comments on Star Trek receiving the Franchise of the Year Award with us on the Redshirts Always Die Facebook and X pages.

Live long and prosper, Trekkies!
