The Doctor is in! Warning... the following footage contains SPOILERS!
All hell breaks loose when the half-Klingon, half-Tellarite Nus Braka (Paul Giamatti) comes a knockin' and looking for revenge 15 years later — a la Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan — in a brand-new video (below) from the upcoming Paramount+ streaming series, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. However, what's even more interesting about the sneak peek is that The Doctor (Robert Picardo) is featured heavily in the footage as Captain Ake (Holly Hunter) is forced to face her past.
The description of the four-minute long clip also includes the synopsis for the upcoming show, which reads as follows courtesy of Paramount+: "Get a sneak peek of Paul Giamatti, as part Klingon, part Tellarite. Nus Braka, the season’s villain with an ominous past connected to one of our cadets. This thrilling new chapter follows a fresh class of cadets as they train under the watchful, demanding eyes of Starfleet’s finest."
The synopsis continues as follows:
"Together, they’ll face the highs and lows of academy life: forging unbreakable friendships, clashing in explosive rivalries, experiencing first loves and stepping into their destiny as the next generation of Starfleet officers. When a mysterious new enemy threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself, these cadets must rise to the challenge or risk losing everything they’ve just begun to fight for."
Picardo even gets to show off some of The Doctor's trademark wit from Star Trek: Voyager as he assists an injured crewmember while conversing with the captain by saying, "If we could avoid another direct hit, that would be super helpful!"
In addition to our beloved Doctor springing into action to help those in need, the new Starfleet Academy clip also gives fans a better look at the WWE's superstar "Big Time Becks," aka, Rebecca Quin, who is a part of the USS Athena's bridge crew.
