Star Trek icon’s appearance seems to confirm what fans suspected (and it's amazing!)

"You can see it all from here... in the center seat."

2026 marks the 60th anniversary of Star Trek and there are plenty of celebrations planned throughout the year, not the least of which is the STLV Trek to Las Vegas set for next August.

However, something else very special appears to be in the works now that all the Jenga pieces are perfectly fitting into place, and nothing has toppled over yet. Rather, the evidence has grown even stronger, my dear Mr. Data. Yesterday, (Wednesday, Dec. 3) Brian Volk-Weiss posted some photos online of himself palling around with none other than Walter Koenig, aka, Mr. Chekov. The Instagram post (below) reads as follows:

“Photon torpedos ready, Admiral!!” I love my job, baby!! #walterkoenig #startrek #nacellecompany #ussenterprise #ncc1701 #ncc8989."

For those newcomers to the Star Trek fandom, Volk-Weiss served as the executive producer on the historical documentary The Center Seat: 55 Years of Star Trek, which our own beloved Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden) narrated. The series ran for 11 episodes from 2021 through 2022, and now it seems all the more likely that the show, or some other continuation of it, is in the works for 2026. Before the Thanksgiving holiday, Volk-Weiss posted some pictures of Alan Ruck, who portrayed the Tuesday-centric (most Trekkies love that bit) Captain John Harriman in Star Trek Generations.

Do you need more evidence? 48 hours before Turkey Day, Volk-Weiss gave fans something to really feast on, which again points to the “poorly hidden show” we all suspect is dropping next year. Check out none other than the Borg Queen herself, Alice Krige in the images below. The Instagram post on Nov. 25 featuring the beloved actress read:

“We had the absolute pleasure of interviewing @realalicekrige for an unnamed yet poorly hidden show we’re working on currently! Absolutely loving all the stories she told!! 'Finding your weakness is only a matter of time!' #alicekrige #nacellecompany #startrek #ussenterprise #startrekfirstcontact #ncc1701 #resistanceisfutile #borgqueen.”

The Center Seat: 55 Years of Star Trek documentary series was an absolute delight to watch, and a new season would be the perfect way to help celebrate 60 years of creator Gene Roddenberry’s science fiction universe. Are you excited to see more of your favorite actors on the must-watch project just like this Trekkie is hoping for?

Share your thoughts and comments with us on the Redshirts Always Die Facebook and X pages. And if you've never seen The Center Seat: 55 Years of Star Trek, all 11 episodes are available on the Nacelle Company's YouTube channel. Be sure to check out the retro trailer below.

Live long and prosper, Trekkies!
