Beam up this unique collectible while it’s still available.
It’s been nearly 10 years since the last installment of J.J. Abrams’ Kelvin Timeline films debuted in cinemas. However, fans of Star Trek Beyond (2016) can now add a “museum grade” Dr. Leonard McCoy figure to their collections, but time is running out to preorder the latest offering from EXO-6.
While only a $20 deposit is required to hold the Beyond Dr. “Bones” McCoy EXO-6 figure, the last day to preorder this unique collectible is Monday, July 20. So, Star Trek fans must act quickly. The non-refundable deposit only scratches the surface of the total cost, though, which is $225. International shipping is an additional $25, while delivery to the United States comes in at a bit more of an expense.
“Duties, taxes, VAT, and any other charges related to customs clearance are not included in the price. U.S. customers will have the U.S. Tariff Impact Fee of $14.50 included in their shipping charge ($225+$39.50-$20=$244.50),” according to EXO-6’s official website.
The Star Trek Beyond Dr. McCoy figure includes a number of interchangeable hands, so that the USS Enterprise’s chief medical officer can hold the collectible's assorted accessories: a Starfleet-issued phaser, a communicator, and two medical scanners.
The 11.8-inch (30 cm) McCoy figure also includes a utility belt. And while it’s not quite as cool as the one actor Adam West’s Batman sported in the iconic 1960s television series, the doctor’s belt does feature a holster for his phaser and a place to hold the closed version of his medical scanner. A display base is also included to proudly show off the McCoy collectible.
Now, as is the case with most of EXO-6’s Star Trek figures, Dr. McCoy bears a striking resemblance to actor Karl Urban, who portrayed the fan-favorite character in all three of the Kelvin Timeline films. However, it’ll take something truly spectacular from the collectibles company to trump the work done on their Commander Kruge and Mirror Sulu figures. These are still my two favorites, and they’re both spot-on representations of Christopher Lloyd and George Takei’s characters respectively.
