2. The Intendant's tyranny
Intendant Kira is the most striking example of the Bajoran officials being elevated into power within this structure. Nana Visitor’s Mirror Kira is a decadent tyrant who uses a combination of whimsy, seduction, and unexpected brutality to dominate Terok Nor.
She treats Terrans like property and indulges all her whims with dramatic flair. Her obsessive fascination with her Prime counterpart adds an unnerving psychological layer; she wants Kira’s admiration as much as her submission, and that desire makes every shared scene crackle with tension.
