3. T'Pol gets to be the smartest person in the room
T’Pol really shines here, serving as the narrative motor rather than a passive observer. From the moment they arrive, she’s the voice of reason, identifying contamination risks and anticipating complications long before the rest of the crew catches on.
It’s a great showcase for a character early Enterprise occasionally mismanaged. Rather than flattening her logic into cold stubbornness, the script frames her pragmatism as vital protection.
Archer might be the man of action, but T’Pol’s grounded caution gives his instinct something real to push against, giving the hour its narrative structure.
