1. Worf (Security Chief, TNG/DS9)
Worf’s reputation precedes him across the galaxy as both a Klingon warrior and a Starfleet security officer. Raised in both Klingon and human societies, he combines a lifetime of Klingon battle instincts with cool, tactical Starfleet discipline. His hand-to-hand combat abilities are among the best in any era, whether he is wielding a bat’leth, a phaser, or just his fists.
When the plot doesn’t require showing how strong the villain of the week is, Worf comes across as an unstoppable force, regularly cutting through multiple opponents and walking away with nothing worse than a few new scars. From bar-room brawls on Deep Space 9 to brutal showdowns with Jem’Hadar and rival Klingons, he proves again and again that if there’s a crew member least likely to lose a fight, it’s probably Worf, and he has earned both his scars and his legend the hard way.
From Vulcan nerve pinches to the crushing grip of an android, these Enterprise crew members combine futuristic abilities, alien ancestry, or an unbreakable Starfleet resolve to become legends on the bridge and in the corridors. Whether or not you ever face them in a fight, their legacy as the toughest the franchise has to offer is secure. Star Trek’s universe is better for having their protection.
