The 2026 Calgary Expo gets underway tonight (Thursday, April 23) at 7 p.m. ET, and three beloved actors representing the Star Trek franchise will be on hand in The Great White North.
For those who are dying to meet iconic performers from both The Original Series and The Next Generation, this weekend is the perfect chance to rub elbows with William Shatner, Gates McFadden, and Brent Spiner.
Shatner, who played the USS Enterprise's commander, James T. Kirk, in TOS and seven Star Trek feature films, will be at this year’s Calgary Expo on both Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25.
An authentic Shatner signature will run fans $150 (8x10 photo), while a premium autograph written on collectibles will cost you $200. And Trekkies can have their photograph taken with the actor for $180, according to the expo’s official website.
Meanwhile, those fans wanting to meet TNG’s Dr. Beverly Crusher (McFadden) and Lt. Commander Data (Brent Spiner) can do so on three days: Friday, April 24 through Sunday, April 26, which is the final day of the Calgary Expo.
It’s far cheaper to get an autograph and/or photo-op from McFadden or Spiner than Shatner. A regular autograph on an 8x10 photo will run fans $80.00, while a premium signature from either star (“all other items”) will cost $100.
And Trekkies can capture the moment by taking their photo with either McFadden or Spiner for $105 each.
Personally, if I were in Calgary, I’d opt to spend $210 to get photographs taken with McFadden and Spiner, rather than forking over $180 for a single photo with Shatner.
I LOVE Captain Kirk, but I’d rather walk away from the expo with two mementos as opposed to only one image. Regardless, though, this weekend should be a lot of fun for Trekkies.
The four-day Calgary Expo runs from Thursday, April 23, through Sunday, April 26, and it takes place at the Stampede Park fairgrounds in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. For more information, and to purchase tickets, please visit the expo’s official website.
