The buzz around Star Trek: Starfleet Academy continues, and while both fans and critics seem divided on this new series, the show's cast has plenty of enthusiasm. Zoe Steiner, who plays Tarima Sadal, the daughter of the Betazoid president, was almost star-struck when she met Holly Hunter for the first time on set. Like the other young actors in this cast, Steiner's awe over meeting more experienced actors is obvious!

While attending Starfleet Academy's blue carpet premiere in New York City, Steiner spoke with TrekNews.net about how she first met Hunter, recalling, "Holly, I was so nervous to meet her. I remember the day I met her. I was just coming out of my first costume fitting, and she was so ready to be just like, besties, and like, 'Hey!' And I was so... I was just like, I literally couldn't speak. And yeah, she just is so warm and giving and generous, and just welcomes us all in. So, it's been an absolute joy!"

Yes, I'm a fan of the older series, but Starfleet Academy is giving off energetic, youthful vibes the franchise needs! It's amazing to realize that fans who watched Star Trek: The Next Generation or Star Trek: Deep Space Nine were watching television history being made, unknowingly, just as our parents or grandparents watched Star Trek: The Original Series without realizing how important it would become, or how completely beloved the characters would be.

Will Starfleet Academy characters like Holly Hunter's Nahla Ake and Zoe Steiner's Tarima Sadal eventually be as beloved in the future? Share your thoughts and comments with us on the Redshirts Always Die Facebook and X pages.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is now streaming on Paramount+.
