The four-bedroom estate will run the lucky buyer almost $3 million.
Star Trek fans have their own favorite characters who they’ve held in high esteem over the years, but only one legacy actor was ever referred to as a "miracle worker" onscreen. And, according to a listing on eXp Realty, a four-bedroom Queen Anne-inspired estate located in a suburb of Seattle that was “originally built for legendary Star Trek actor James Doohan” is now on the market for just under $3 million.
Doohan, who portrayed the legendary Mr. Scott on The Original Series, The Animated Series, and seven feature film Treks, also reprised the role in the must-see episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation titled “Relics.” Sadly, the iconic actor passed away on July 20, 2005, in Redmond, Washington, which is where the estate is located. An excerpt from the listing’s description reads as follows (per eXp Realty):
“Originally built for legendary Star Trek actor James Doohan ('Scotty'), this exceptional estate masterfully blends classic charm with contemporary living on an expansive, unmatched lot. Inside, walls of windows, soaring ceilings, and abundant skylights fill the home with brilliant natural light.”
The listing continues as follows
“Rich hardwood floors guide you through an effortless open-concept layout designed for both quiet reflection and grand-scale entertaining. A classic library invites focused work, deep reading, or meaningful conversations, while the luxurious main-level primary suite with its spa-like bath offers the perfect setting for ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation.”
The four-bedroom home's lot is just over five acres, and the estate has a total of five bathrooms. There are also three built-in garages and an ample-sized paved driveway for additional parking. Again, not only is the listing price nearly $3 million ($2,998,888), but whoever buys the estate must be able to afford the $24,333 in taxes.
Personally, while it’s clear the home has been masterfully renovated and updated throughout inside, I couldn’t get over the charm of the quaint, wooden library shelves complete with its own ladder. And my favorite sports to play over the years have been basketball and tennis, so I was blown away to find the outdoor sports court on the listing, complete with two basketball goals and a net for those who also like to play these same games.
The estate built for Mr. Doohan has only been on the market since Wednesday, June 24, and there are over 40 photos available online, if you’re interested in looking over the home and its magnificent lot.
