Star Trek producer says exploring Jonathan Archer's future would be 'a wonderful thing'

The Redshirts Always Die team is a huge proponent of Mike Sussman’s idea for a Star Trek: United, which would give the devoted fandom a true follow-up to the vastly underrated Enterprise television series starring fan-favorite actor Scott Bakula. However, Trekkies are still playing the waiting game in 2026 where the return of Jonathan Archer is concerned.

Perhaps what follows, though, is finally a meaningful step forward in the right direction, at least in conversation. In a new interview on the press tour for the upcoming Star Trek: Starfleet Academy series, co-showrunner Alex Kurtzman revealed it be "a wonderful thing" to explore Jonathan Archer’s future. Kurtzman said in an interview with MovieWeb:

“First of all, I love Scott [Bakula]. He’s such a… he’s so fantastic, and we’ve met a couple of times. And I mean, of course, it would be a wonderful thing to be able to do.” (Continued...)
