Paramount Plus is, for the most part, the go-to website for all of Star Trek’s legendary content. However, there is only one place Trekkies can stream the Emmy-nominated series featuring so many fan-favorite characters — and that is Netflix.
Unfortunately, the streaming giant is nixing Star Trek: Prodigy’s must-see second season at the end of the month. Yes, Wednesday, Dec. 31, is your final chance to watch the show, unless you have purchased it on physical media or through a video-on-demand website.
I can’t recommend Prodigy enough. I know there are those out there who haven’t given the series a chance, but it’s so well-written and wonderfully animated. Plus, if you’re a fan of either Star Trek: The Next Generation or Voyager, you simply can’t afford to miss this streaming series, particularly season 2.
Wesley Crusher (Wil Wheaton) returns as a Traveler for the first time since he popped up in the live-action season 2 finale of Star Trek: Picard, “Farewell” and the Lower Decks episode, “Old Friends, New Planets.” However, this time he plays a MAJOR role throughout Prodigy’s second season.
Additionally, Kate Mulgrew is back playing both Admiral Janeway and Hologram Janeway. Heck, Trekkies even get to see Mirror Janeway in the Prodigy season 2 episode, “Cracked Mirror.” The Doctor (Robert Picardo) is also main character in Prodigy as is Captain Chakotay (Robert Beltran). Seeing Janeway and Chakotay reunite is worth watching this animated sensation all on its own!
So what other Star Trek content is leaving Netflix on Jan. 1, 2026?
