"Bring your child to work day," which is better known today as "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day," is a popular concept across the country, giving kids the chance to experience a day in their parents' working lives. And back in the day, a young Adam Nimoy stepped aboard a starship with his famous father, Leonard Nimoy, who played Mr. Spock in Star Trek: The Original Series, creating an amazing memory he recently shared on social media.

The X post (below) features a photo of a young Adam Nimoy fitted with Vulcan ears to match his father, who looks on, smiling broadly while dressed in his Star Trek uniform. Judging by their expressions, this was one "bring your kid to work day" that was both wildly unique and enjoyable too! The post currently has over 77,000 views, a testament to Leonard Nimoy's memory and how much Star Trek means to people all over the globe.

While Adam Nimoy's experience was outside the pale, my own "bring your kid to work day" was an everyday experience.

My mother was a cafeteria worker at my elementary school, and if I were to sum up my days in a photo, I'd be behind the long folding table where the cafeteria workers stood, wearing the school-issue apron they gave her to wear.

It wasn't very interesting work, and she often escaped into books and TV (including reruns of Star Trek) and introduced me to the joys of both, for which I will be forever grateful.

Adam Nimoy has since been open about his sometimes-troubled relationship with his father in books like The Most Human. Despite their differences, though, the photo he shared with us all is a reminder of the lifelong connections we all share with our parents.
