Star Trek: Discovery and Section 31’s own Philippa Georgiou will be honored with star No. 2,836 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Yes, Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh is joining the ranks of Tinseltown’s elite in a ceremony scheduled to honor her at 2:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Feb. 18, outside the incomparable TCL, formerly the Grauman’s, Chinese Theatre. Iconic directors Jon M. Chu and Ang Lee are scheduled to appear as the two emcees speaking on Yeoh’s behalf.

Yeoh starred as Philippa Georgiou in the first three seasons of Discovery and later reprised the role in the streaming film Section 31. Certainly, Yeoh isn’t being honored with a Hollywood star for her Trek appearances. Rather, the talented actress is being immortalized on the Walk of Fame for an eclectic career spanning a plethora of roles over decades in show business.

In addition to her 2023 Academy Award win (Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role) for Everything Everywhere All at Once, Yeoh is best known for playing a number of memorable roles over the years, including that of Bond Girl Wai Lin to Pierce Brosnan’s 007 in Tomorrow Never Dies. Plus, who can forget her Wicked performances as Madame Morrible in The Wizard of Oz’s big-screen prequels/sequels: Wicked and Wicked For Good, which were directed by one of her two emcees: Jon M. Chu.

Outside of these performances, I’m especially fond of Yeoh’s roles in the rom-dram Crazy Rich Asians and the poignant Memoirs of a Geisha. However, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention her significant contribution to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which was directed by her other emcee: Ang Lee.

For those Trekkies interested in watching Yeoh receive her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the ceremony will be available to stream live on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 2:30 p.m. EST. And for more Star Trek content, visit the Redshirts Always Die Facebook and X pages.

Live long and prosper, Trekkies!
