Many Star Trek collectors like myself are probably concerned with franchise licensing issues of late. Some companies, such as Hero Within, can no longer afford a licensing fee following the merger of Paramount and Skydance. It does make fans wonder if the increased costs following the formation of the Paramount Skydance Corporation will affect other companies, but the CEO of the Nacelle Company, Brian Volk-Weiss has some great news for us.
Volk-Weiss took to Instagram on Dec. 15 (watch the video below) to briefly discuss Nacelle's ongoing relationship with Paramount Skydance, reassuring us collectors that the toy company's relationship with Paramount is "as great as it's always been" and that the release schedule for its latest offerings is on track.
Wave 1 figures began shipping in mid-December
During the brief Instagram video, Volk-Weiss let collectors know that Wave 1, which includes eight figures: Captain Sulu, Cadet Peter Preston, Valkris, Weyoun, Captain Jellico, Tuvix, Captain Garrett, and Mirror Archer, began shipping in mid-December, which means most collectors who pre-ordered any individual action figures or the Wave 1 bundle should get them before the start of the New Year.
As a collector who pre-ordered the Mirror Archer figure months ago, I'm pleased to say it arrived on Dec. 22. It has that amazing Nacelle Toys quality that you don't see anywhere else. It's a great Wave 1 lineup, and I'm sure collectors like myself are excited to see what's coming in 2026.
It's gratifying to know that we'll be getting plenty more Star Trek items from Nacelle during 2026 and while other companies have unfortunately had to end their deal with Paramount Skydance, collectors can still find and purchase quality figures. Which ones have you purchased from Wave 1? Share your thoughts and comments with us on the Redshirts Always Die Facebook and X pages.
