Did your favorites from Star Trek: The Original Series make the cut, or were their molecules left scrambled in the transporter?

Fans can't miss watching the good old USS Enterprise, Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, and Dr. McCoy's hilarious banter, the comfort of the show's camp, its silly-looking aliens, and cringeworthy cardboard backgrounds. Yes, it's all familiar--including the actors and actresses who appeared on the show more than once, so let's take a look back and rank our most beloved TOS guest stars. Unfortunately, with only three slots to fill, some favorites didn't make the cut.

3. Morgan Woodward

Morgan Woodward, a Texas native and a World War II Air Force pilot, turned to acting and had several prominent roles on television, most notably in Westerns like Wagon Train and Gunsmoke. However, the two most prolific parts he played on television during the course of his career were Shotgun Gibbs in The Life and Times of Wyatt Earp and he also starred as Punk Anderson on Dallas.

In reference to his role in The Life and Times of Wyatt Earp, it's also interesting to note that the Earps figure heavily in the Star Trek: TOS season 3 episode, "Spectre of the Gun," but Woodward doesn't appear in that one.

Woodward appeared on Star Trek twice, first as Dr. Van Gelder in season 1's "Dagger of the Mind" and in season 2's "The Omega Glory," as Captain Tracey. Woodward plays each role as a man who wants to correct mistakes made in the past, mistakes likely made out of ego or a misdirected sense of duty.
