1. Mark Lenard
Mark Lenard's name is practically synonymous with Star Trek guest actors who played more than one role. In "Balance of Terror," his part as the Romulan Commander represents the tensions of war, fear of the unknown, and bigotry, while his other Trek character, Sarek, is an unsteady bridge between Spock's Vulcan and human sides.
Both of Lenard's characters are beloved by Trekkies, but the actor would become most famous as Spock's father, Sarek, after making his first appearance in "Journey To Babel" during TOS season 2.
Lenard continued to play Sarek in Star Trek: The Next Generation and in The Original Series' cinematic universe entries The Search for Spock, The Voyage Home, and The Undiscovered Country. Lenard's deep, calm voice and commanding screen presence made him a fan favorite.
Star Trek: The Original Series is a treasure trove of familiar actors who gave life to some of the franchise's most popular characters. Do you agree with our list? Or do you feel that other favorites like Roger C. Carmel and Diana Muldaur should have made the cut instead?
