"The Naked Time," which premiered on September 29, 1966, is still considered one of Star Trek's best character studies 60 years later, as it shows much more than just its infamous "everyone gets space drunk" concept.

The episode takes a seemingly lighthearted idea and turns it into a serious analysis of duty, repression, and how quickly order may break down on a spaceship when inhibitions disappear, exposing the worries, desires, and frustrations that its crew usually keeps to themselves.
