My Spider-Sense is tingling, and this idea is a no-brainer when it comes to a big-screen Trek.
I’m truly excited about what is on the horizon for all us fans when it comes to future Star Trek content. Starfleet Academy, Strange New Worlds seasons 4 and 5, more of the creative and enjoyable children-centric Scouts, plus three movies are all on the way. Producer Alex Kurtzman even alluded to more streaming/TV content before the New Year.
However, if the newly merged Paramount Skydance Corporation seriously wants to contend with animation giants like Marvel and Sony’s wildly successful Spider-Verse feature films, reviving Star Trek: Prodigy as box office extravaganza should be a top priority for Paramount Skydance. In fact, it begs for a big-screen adaptation.
Paramount Skydance’s CEO, David Ellison, should know this is a unique “you can take that to the bank” opportunity just lying dusty and dormant in the throes of Prodigy’s senseless cancellation back in 2024.
Star Trek's rich franchise spans nearly 60 years, and Prodigy could easily compete in the theatrical landscape with today's premiere money-making animation flicks like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and its sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. (Continued...)
