It’s official: Section 31 is NOT the Worst Picture. Really!
Most Trekkies know the stigma surrounding Star Trek: Section 31. However, while the streaming film is undoubtedly a clunker when compared to the other movies within the franchise, Section 31 did not win Worst Picture at the 46th Razzie Awards. No, that honor — and rightfully so — went to the abhorrent and unwatchable War of the Worlds starring Ice Cube. In fact, War of the Worlds was this year's big loser winning five Golden Raspberries altogether.
Overall, Section 31 can proudly hold its nacelles high, too, because the film didn’t walk away with a single Golden Raspberry trophy at this year’s Razzies, which is remarkable because it was nominated in a total of five categories. The other nominees, along with from Worst Picture, included Worst Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Worst Supporting Actress (Kacey Rohl), Worst Director (Olatunde Osunsanmi), and Worst Screenplay (Craig Sweeny | Story by Bo Yeon Kim and Erika Lippoldt).
Personally, I’m also proud to report that Redshirts Always Die almost perfectly predicted the 2026 Razzie results (4-1). I truly thought Section 31 was going to garner the Worst Screenplay Golden Raspberry, but War of the Worlds writers Kenny Golde and Marc Hyman must live with that dishonor for the rest of their careers. I am so happy to have been wrong!
As predicted back in January, Bride Hard’s Rebel Wilson did win Worst Actress, which she was much more deserving of than Michelle Yeoh for Section 31. Plus, I thought Sylvester Stallone’s daughter Scarlet Rose was going to end up winning the Worst Supporting Actress Golden Raspberry for the atrocious Gunslingers movie, and she did, which let Section 31’s Kacey Rohl off the hook for her portrayal of Rachel Garrett.
Are you surprised Star Trek: Section 31 went 0 for 5 at the 2026 Razzie Awards? I still can’t believe the streaming film didn’t walk away with the Golden Raspberry for Worst Screenplay, but I am glad the franchise was unscathed by those harmful raspberries this year. Live long and prosper, Trekkies!
