Many longtime Star Trek fans consider The Wrath of Khan the definitive Star Trek movie, but critical consensus, according to Rotten Tomatoes, has increasingly placed First Contact above it. At the time of this writing, the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer scores for the two Star Trek films in question are as follows:
- Star Trek: First Contact (1996): "Certified Fresh" 93 percent on the Tomatometer.
- Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982): "Certified Fresh" 87 percent on the Tomatometer.
