Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was also nominated for four CAFTCAD awards, including Excellence in Crafts – Textiles (“Wedding Bell Blues”), Excellence in Crafts – Building (SNW season 3), Excellence in Crafts – Illustrations (SNW season 3), and Costume Design in TV — Sci-Fi/Fantasy (“Wedding Bell Blues”).

Even the much-maligned Star Trek: Section 31 streaming film managed to walk away with a couple of CAFTCAD awards: Excellence in Crafts – Building and Costume Design in Film - Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Personally, I was most excited to see that the Strange New Worlds episode “Wedding Bell Blues” garnered two CAFTCAD nods.

“Wedding Bell Blues” didn’t rank highly with most of the fandom. However, it’s one of my favorite season 3 episodes because of Trelane’s return to the franchise, not to mention the inclusion of John de Lancie as the voice of his father. And 10 more nominations this awards season just proves Star Trek continues to crank out tremendous work worthy of these accolades.

CAFTCAD winners will be revealed on March 1, and the Saturn Awards will be presented on March 8. For more Star Trek content, visit the Redshirts Always Die Facebook and X pages.

Live long and prosper, Trekkies!
