In this episode of Star Trek: Scouts, the kids meet in the Holodeck to go on a new mission!
The Scouts visit the holodeck to help a baby animal separated from its mother! Sprocket, a young Vulcan, asks what animal it is, and Roo scans the adult with her tricorder. She explains that it’s a Denebian Slimevark, a purple and green, elephant-like creature with small horns along its back.
As the team reassures the mother that they’re here to help, a nearby volcano begins to erupt, threatening the baby animal who is across a gorge, trapped and unable to escape the lava. JR activates his rocketboots and blasts off with the rest of the Scouts cheering and encouraging him. He lands right next to the baby Slimevark who is scared by his loud entrance. JR immediately apologies to the small creature for scaring him, but the animal still seems frightened.
JR taps his communicator to ask for advice from the others. Roo, always the scientist, checks her tricorder for information on the species and finds that they love giant Andorian blueberries! But JR doesn’t have any! Sprocket chimes in saying he can replicate them with his travel-sized replicator. Then, using his cybernetically enhanced bionic arm, he throws the giant blueberry over the gorge to JR.
The lava has now reached JR and the baby Slimevark. The rock they’re on becomes a floating island as JR holds the blueberry out to the animal who grabs it with its long tongue. JR picks up the baby, as the rock island slides over the edge of the gorge. But then, rocket boots! JR and the Slimevark fly up into the air!
The baby is reunited with its mother and the mission is complete! The Scouts huddle up to chant their motto, “Discover, grow, boldly go!”
