Today’s holodeck mission of Star Trek: Scouts features the team trying to track down a thief and familiar foe, Shadowtrix, who has stolen a baby Noble Nimbus monkey!
Roo tells the team about the animal, which is a monkey from Taurus 2, and it can create static electricity.
As they chase Shadowtrix, she heads toward an asteroid storm to lose them. She then rubs the monkey’s head which gives her small ship a forcefield to protect from the asteroids.
Sprocket tells the others that their ship is too big to fly through the storm, and they don’t have a forcefield! JR says they’ll have to fight Shadowtrix face to face, so the Scouts change into spacesuits, and eject from the top of their ship to fight in space.
The kids rocket past asteroids, JR with his rocketboots, Sprocket with his backpack, and Roo with her hoverboard. The kids try to get into the ship but hit the forcefield instead. The Scouts quickly discuss how to get inside, and Sprocket with his tech comes to the rescue by suggesting they use phasers! Sprocket sets his phaser to “pop” to open the ship’s top hatch and get inside.
Sprocket reaches inside and using his cybernetic arm, cuts the monkey free from being tied to the passenger chair. The monkey jumps on Shadowtrix and ruffles her hair, creating an electrical charge which he uses to create his own forcefield, jumps out of the ship’s hatch, and into Roo’s arms.
The kids beam back to the monkey’s parent who is happy to have her baby back! She even lets the kids pet her head, creating a charge that upgrades their suits to have forcefields. The mission is a success as the Scouts chant their very Star Trek motto, “Discover, grow, boldly go!”
