The nominees are in, and this panned Star Trek project is up for an actual Guild award!

Nominations have officially been announced by MUAHS President Julie Socash for the 13th annual Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards, and a controversial Star Trek project received a nod against some rather stiff competition. The honor goes to the panned Star Trek: Section 31 streaming film, which is up for the Best Special Make-Up Prosthetics award (per the MUAHS Guild).

The Section 31 nominees include Nicola Bendrey, Rocky Faulkner, Michele Hetrick, and Glenn Hetrick. The Star trek movie is up against three Netflix projects which includes the streaming giants runaway hit Stranger Things – season 5 (Barrie Gower, Mike Mekash, Duncan Jarman), The Addams Family spin-off Wednesday (Tristan Versluis & Matthew Smith), and the horrifying Charlie Hunnam-led Monster: The Ed Gein Story (Corey Castellano, Mark Nieman, David Leroy Anderson, David Snyder).
