1. Deep Space Nine

The opening of Deep Space Nine is a showcase for how this wasn’t the same kind of Trek series. The camera follows an asteroid flying through space, leaving behind trails of dust, and it sets the tone as we slowly see DS9 in all its glory. The various shots showcase the station's size, a model that still puts scores of CGI settings to shame.

The reason this is the top intro is how it changes and evolves over the series’ run. Beginning with season 4, fans get to see the USS Defiant, as the station becomes busier with more ships showing how DS9 is at the forefront of the Dominion War. That evolution is why DS9 has the best Trek intro to mirror how the series itself turned into a classic saga.
