Paul Wesley and Ethan Peck clearly enjoyed themselves while appearing on Entertainment Tonight following the season 3 finale of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The two friends and colleagues were playing a round of Spilling the E-Tea to promote their sci-fi series, but it became abundantly clear that Peck had never watched an episode of Wesley’s famed supernatural show, The Vampire Diaries. Nevertheless, during the segment, it was Wesley’s turn to ask Peck a question, which turned out to be directly related to The CW hit. Wesley asked: “How do you think you would have fared as a vampire on my previous series, The Vampire Diaries?” Peck replied by saying (per ET): “Well, I’ve got the paleness for it, and I really am not a fan of like too much sun."
Wesley immediately pointed out that Peck must not have watched his hit vampire series which ran for eight seasons on The CW and spawned several spinoffs, including The Originals, Legacies, and The Originals: Awakening. Peck replied simply with a bit of laughter as he said, “No.” Wesley portrayed Stefan, who was one of the two Salvatore brothers, along with Damon (Ian Somerhalder).
Both Wesley and Peck doted on being a part of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, as the interview continued, partly because the sci-fi series isn’t afraid of mixing it up when it comes to exploring different genres. For instance, the SNW season 3 episode “A Space Adventure Hour” explored the mystery genre as La’an (Christina Chong) tested the effectiveness of a holodeck, while installments like “Wedding Bell Blues” and “Four-and-a-Half-Vulcans” leaned heavily into comedy.
Near the end of the interview, the focus shifted back to The Vampire Diaries when Wesley revealed that he’d consider reprising the role of Stefan under the right circumstances. Peck immediately spoke up after that and said, “It’d be an amazing thing if we did like a vampire-themed, genre-themed episode on Strange [New Worlds]." Wesley replied: "We may."
Peck added: "“That would be really awesome.”
Clearly, these two talented actors are relishing their time working on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. So, what do you think about the possibility of seeing the crew of the USS Enterprise and/or the USS Farragut tangled up in a vampire-centric episode of SNW? Would you want the story to be faithfully set in the horror genre? Or would you prefer a story set in the suspense and comedy realms?
