“It’s the most adorable puppet ever created.”

Unfortunately, Mr. Spock (Ethan Peck) wasn’t affected by the insane transporter faux pas in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4’s puppet episode. However, all the other main cast members did end up being immortalized in “Muppet” history thanks to Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. And one puppet in particular stood out from all the rest, even to actress Rebecca Romijn and the rest of the cast.

Romijn, who portrays Number One, aka Una-Chin Riley, revealed her personal favorite of the Strange New Worlds puppets in a new interview, and, no, she didn’t pick her own. Instead, Romijn cast her vote for Commander Pelia’s puppet by telling SYFY Wire: “We all immediately fell in love with [Carol Kane]’s puppet, because it's the most adorable puppet ever created.”

Romijn echoes the same sentiment, which surfaced time and again during this year’s Strange New Worlds season 4 press tour, nearly a month before the puppet episode, “Level-Five Transporter Accident” premiered on Paramount+. The SNW cast raved about Kane’s transformation into a “Muppet” then, and their opinions have not wavered.

The Star Trek, X-Men, and Avengers: Doomsday actress also pointed out the obvious Ceti Alpha V-sized elephant in the room, regarding her jarring feelings after seeing her puppet for the very first time. Romijn said during the same sit-down: “You're like, ‘Is this what I look like? Do you guys think I look like this?’”

Nurse Chapel actress Jess Bush even chimed in about Pelia’s perfect puppet, telling SYFY Wire, “Her puppet running around barefoot… iconic.”

And for those who haven't seen the episode yet, check out Romijn posing with her Number One puppet below, which is pretty awesome in its own right.

Live long and prosper, Trekkies!
