Collaborating with Hollywood icons
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau were truly impressed by Sandro Rosta's audition, and that speaks volumes about his massive potential as an actor. You see, he is having to collaborate with Starfleet Academy co-stars the likes of Oscar-winner Holly Hunter and the Golden Globe-winning Paul Giamatti.
Both Hunter's Nahla Ake and Giamatti's Nus Braka have ties to Caleb's dark past. Rosta continued to tout his role for those in attendance at this year’s NYCC by saying:
“The reality of Caleb is that he’s savage on the outside, but on the inside, there’s just someone who is much like the rest of us, who cares and who has a lot of love and a lot of fear. And I think the growth of that is what was intriguing for me. And what you should know about Caleb is that he’s a human being.”
Are you as excited to watch Star Trek: Starfleet Academy as I am? What are your first impressions of Sandro Rosta's character, Caleb Mir? Despite his age and inexperience, the young actor has a chance to shine as the show's protagonist, which should include some unforgettable scenes with Caleb, Nahla, and Nus.
