4. Tarima Sadal

As another “rich kid,” Tarima Sadal is a leader of a youth movement on Betazed to rejoin The Federation and look to the stars once again. Her romantic chemistry with Caleb Mir is palpable. The two share a guarded nature, albeit for different reasons.

Sadal’s chemistry with Mir provides us with our first love story. It will clearly be messy, but both characters have so many redeeming qualities that we as fans want to root for them. Perhaps most intriguing is Sadal’s neuro inhibitor. She has hinted at a heightened sense of empathy beyond any Betazoid’s abilities.

As a result, she wears a neuro inhibitor to prevent her from “hurting” others. However, Tarima checks in at No. 4 on our list because of a power we haven't seen her use yet. Tarima emits a shockwave from her mouth, while screaming, much like the superhero Black Canary from DC Comics.

This footage can be seen at the 1:39 mark of Starfleet Academy's official trailer. And this incredible ability likely accounts for the reason Tarima wears the inhibitor.
